But being a single mom can have its perks too.
If macaroni and cheese is all I need to make for dinner, then that's all I make. If I want to take Peanut to the park, I don't need to see if someone else had other plans for the day. I don't have to share any of Peanut's cuddles, they are all mine for the taking. If Peanut and I want to be lazy on a Sunday and watch Disney movies in our pajamas, we can do it without being made to feel guilty.
I also have much more time for friends. I can go out every other weekend without having to worry about finding a babysitter. I have more time to
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be a single mom forever. I want to be married again and have my happily ever after one day. However, I'm going to take advantage of it for a while and use it as a learning experience - to learn about myself.
If you're a single mom, tell me about the positives you have found. Yes, it's a tough job but it does have some perks.

ReplyDeleteI don't think you have to be a single mom, just newly single, to appreciate personal freedom! It's great to get to go what you want and not have to take anyone else's feelings into account. I say enjoy it :)
